God promised that He would show signs and wonders so Pharaoh would let the Hebrews go. Pharaoh's heart was hardened...another way to say that he wanted his own way. These are the 10 plagues God responded with found in the Book of Exodus:

1. Nile turns to blood (7:14–25)

2. Frogs (8:1–15)

3. Gnats (8:16–19)

4. Flies (8:20–32)

5. Death of livestock (9:1–7)

6. Boils (9:8–12)

7. Hail (9:13–25)

8. Locusts (10:1–20)

9. Darkness (10:21–29)

10. Death of Firstborn (12:12)

Pharaoh's response was to harden his heart. What does that mean? The basic meaning of hard-heartedness is rebellion and stubbornness — the opposite of humility, faith, a circumcised heart and obedience. The troubling feature of Pharaoh’s hard heart is that God hardened it. Once Pharaoh said, "Just take away the Frogs and you can go." "When", Moses asked. "Tomorrow," Pharaoh said. Moses replied, "It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the LORD our God." However, in the morning, Pharaoh changed his mind.

The Hebrews escaped all the plagues. However, the tenth plague required the Hebrews to follow the instructions so the Angel of Death would pass over their door. This is the Lord's Passover.
