A Testimony is simply a story explaining how and why I decided to be a follower of Jesus. My life had been falling apart since graduating from High School two years before. While visiting my parents in Arcata, California, I was invited to a Bible study where I met some people who said that God is real; He loves you; He wants to get to know you; You can be forgiven for all the bad things you have done; He will help you change your life; You can be with Him after you die.

I wanted that, but I wasn’t sure. A leader, Matt Moore, gave me a Bible that was easy to read along with some books that talked about how to become a follower of Jesus. After reading one book and several chapters (Mark, Luke, John and Acts) I was convinced that this was true. Alone in my room, with tears streaming down my face I said a simple prayer giving my life to Christ. Almost immediately I felt a warm glow flooding my body; comforting me. I went to sleep feeling optimistic and peaceful.

My life wasn’t transformed immediately but there were changes that even my friends noticed. I stopped some of the destructive behaviors and developed a hunger for knowing God that has continued to this day. I want to share what I have learned with anyone who has questions and desires a relationship with the Living God.
